Summer 2011 Trends - Colour Blocking

COLOUR  BLOCKING

This is such a cool trend! I really am moving from my more comfortable brown neutrals to colour blocking! Three colours is particularly what your hoping for, you just don't want to to end up looking like a Rubik's Cube! :) Basically you have to throw everything you know from your styleguide out the window! If your a person who uses black as a safety colour, this may be a bit hard for you! Wear all those bold bright colours you thought you wouldn't get away with!

The Makeup part of it is crazy, I love it so much! Bright Yellows, Pinks, Greens and Blues. These are always colours I really just loved so much in the pans and I couldn't wear but now I finally can wear MAC Passionate and Freshwater (even together with Goldenrod, like how crazy is that) , rather then All That Glitters or Handwritten! I'm completely in love with this trend! :)

June Favourites '11

This being my first favourite I'm unsure on how I will structure it! So I'm just going to start typing and hope it'll come out okay. So my makeup everyday reach fors were:

As usual my reach for foundation was MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW20. Such a great foundation. Great full coverage! MAC foundation is a hit or miss, love or hate! And I love them! :) Studio Sculpt, Studio Tech, Studio Plus Powder, Select, Pro Longwear, I have and love them all!

For eye shadows, MAC eye shadows are my go to for a long time now. The colour pay off is worth the extra couple of euros from a drugstore brand, and the colour variety is just out of this world. I don't know can I pick just one so I'm going to say Satin Taupe, Woodwinked, Sketch and Handwritten.

I think that's my most go to four. I've had Black Tied, which is a black shimmer, for a long time now and I love it. All four are late May/early June purchases. Satin Taupe and Woodwinked are alike in pan but so different in swatch and on eye. They both are shimmery browns, Satin Taupe is a frost and Woodwinked a veluxe pearl. Sketch is the most beautiful purple ever! I'm in love with this burgundy velvet, it has a red shimmer in it which makes it so different, it's great for lid, crease, under-eye. Handwritten I love wearing with Swiss Chocolate! on the lid, blended together. Just an unbelievable all rounder. I've been loving smokey eyes and dramatics.

Mascara and eyeliner I've estranged from my usual MAC products. I am loving Maybelline Volum' Express One by One mascara or Volum' Express The Falsies, I think One by One is just amazing, it seperates the lashes so effortlessly unlike a lot of mascaras, this just doesn't clump!

Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner is the most amazing gel eyeliner, it comes with a brush too, so if you don't have a angled eyeliner on hand, this brush would work a charm.

MAC Dollymix blush has been my go to cheek product, well I have two cheek products but blush-wise. It is the most amazing hot pink blush!

My other go to face product is a new bronzer from the MAC surf baby collection, the Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder in Lush-Light Bronze. The detailing on it is so cool. MACMACMACMACMACMAC. I got both this and the blush new and I've literally being using them everyday.

For lips, MAC lipstick same reason as for MAC eyeshadows, the colour pay off is amazing, and range of colours is just incredible. I think I'm going to say, this is so hard - I think I'm going to split it to two everyday and one other - Naked Paris and Viva Glam Gaga LE, well not together but they were my main lips for June, and Riveting Rose LE for when I want to amp it up.

And my go to brush; my everyday lifesaver, holy grail, can't worship enough brush is any eyeshadow blending brush. It has to be the one thing I could give to any girl, and it would change each and every one of those girls lifes. MAC 217 or a Sigma E25 are my goto's :)! :)

9. Blending Brush - MAC 217 Blending Brush/Sigma E25/No7 Eyeshadow Blend and Contour Brush.

Top 10 Award

Wow, I'd like to thank my Mom and my Dad, all those who've been there for me. Lol I think this is the wrong time for a Oscar winning acceptance speech, for winning a Oscar! But I would like to thank all of ye in the Blogging World :) Most importantly Arianne for giving me this award, it's so appreciated :)

My ten most reached for products.. Oh wow that's a hard one! I'll start with:

1&2) MAC Pro Palette Eye Shadow x 15 and MAC Eye Shadow Pro Palette Refill Pan -

These are the most amazing convenient thing! I'm going to do a post all about these babies, they are my favourite part of makeup. I love doing my eye shadow, all you can do with it is unbelievable!

3) MAC 222 Tapered Blending Brush or Sigma Blending - E25 -

HOLY GRAIL RIGHT HERE! I can't rave enough about these! 

I don't know where to start, this changes a whole look, just a little blending! :O This is the most amazing life saver in the makeup world :)

4) Maybelline Volum' Express One By One Mascara -

This mascara makes your lashes look like there the sexiest lashes in the world. Your lashes do not clump as it has a amazing clump free brush because the Lash Catcher Brush has three bristles for every lashes, catching each one.

5) MAC Lipstick in Saint Germain -

I've been after this for so long but was skeptical because I have Viva Glam Gaga I and I thought it would be very similar to Saint Germain, which is a bubblegum pink colour! I can't get enough of this colour, honestly it makes your face so bright and happy, I am going to get some more backups next week because I just love it and people say it is very hard to get your hands on as it is always out of stock.

6) Surf, Baby! Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder in Lush-Light Bronze. It is limited edition, but out at the moment! You can get it in the permanent line in Medium Deep, which is much the same but doesn't have the MACMACMACMACMAC!

7) Powder Blush in Dollymix -
I got this with my bronzer. It is the most beautiful hot pink colour! Just a dap of this on your cheeks and you be perfect! This blush is going to last me a lifetime, but I'm quiet happy about that :)

8) Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner -
Wow how much do i love this? A whole lot. I wanted a non-pencil liner for so long! I've tried Liquid liners, Felt tip liners and I just lost the want for a liquid or gel liner, I stopped applying liner to my lashline and just gave up, little bit with my pencil on my water line and that was it. Until I found this! It is so easily controlled, and so easy to apply to the waterline, which I was abit weary about at the start but got over that and love it.

9) OPI -
There is to many blogs out there to even start! Most amazing nail polish I've ever used! Love the colour pay off of these, I don't find that they chip. Some people have that problem, but not me! Love this brand! Colour range is incredible! I will be using OPI for a long time and the collections are so exciting!

10) Pandora -
My pandora bracelet, I love it. I got it as a gift recently and I wear it all the time. At the moment I only have two charms and I will get more! Every charm I think should have a significance to you and the people around you. It makes it so much more meaningful :)
